I spoke to a girl who basically made me feel like If I even look at a woman it is sexual harassment?

This girl in my class was talking about some other guy who she feels is stalking her. After she explained in detail, it was more like he just had a crush on her. She said a guy looking at her made her feel sexually harassed. If you touch her hand or shoulder, she felt violated. I’ve noticed a lot of woman share the same values. It makes me not even want to talk to woman for fear of being accused of sexual harassment. Is this why Keanu reeves does his open hands thing during pictures? I literally have a fear of being accused of sexual harassment. Even if it’s not proven, it would destroy my life. I would probably be fired from work and I’d lose friends and family would turn against me.

Ok you should only fear this if u are literally harassing someone. Also if ur fearful just don’t touch people without their consent. Going back to that girl simply respect her feelings. You never know if she has experienced trama in the past causing her to feel like that. To prevent being a accused of harassment being respectful and understanding of others and their boundaries. Don’t judge them. Don’t harass them. Period.

What exactly is harassing? Talking? Looking? Sitting next to them? From my understanding, harassment is when the other person doesn’t feel comfortable.

It depends on how close you are with the person. If you tell a girl she has nice eyes I doubt she would take that as harassment. But if you say she’s sexy she would probably be uncomfortable. It’s just common sense. If your looking at her ass constantly duh your intruding her boundaries. If you just met a girl and your sitting so close to her she can smell what you have for lunch maybe take a step back.

Asker you are on the right track because you're correct Sexual Harrassment is completely subjective and based on how a women perceives the attention she is receiving at the time. My advice would be to protect yourself at all times however obviously you are going to need to learn to interact w/ women. Also you are going to need to have a stronger vetting process. Limit your initial dates to cheap, public places and make sure you are the one asking the questions.

SO, to the extent that a "look" can be threatening, it could be considered as such. Check with the local police for clarification in your area- some use the terms synonymously.
