Why would my mum tell everyone I'm wearing a push-up bra?

My mother frequently tells people we are with embarrassing stories about me in social situations, and when I let her know I’m embarrassed, she makes me out to be too sensitive or overreacting. The most recent thing was, we were with her college friends in a social gathering. Some of the women complimented my figure (they were being nice) and said I have “nice boobs.” My mum said “she’s wearing a padded bra, they add two cup sizes to her chest.”

Why is she like this? How do I handle this? It makes me feel so embarrassed. I'm 24 by the way.
