Do these statistical facts back up that hypergamy and 80/20 rule hold true?

Among black people, 54% of black men are single and childless. 30% of black men are married and have children. The combined percentage is 84%.

This means that vast majority of black women are having kids with a small minority of black men that they aren't marred to.

We see similar trends when we look at casual dating/hookup culture. Women only go after and chase top 5% of men in online dating. With the remaining 95% of males having to start the conversation and put in ridiculous hours of work to get a date.

Do you think the trend shown by black women in a societal culture where being a single mother is not stigmatized shows a perfect example of hypergamy?

He says that 30% are married (he doesn’t mention whether they have children or not)

He then speaks as though the 30% of married men don’t have children, he adds 54 and 30 to make 84%, then says that all of the black kids are being gathered by the remaining 16% of men.

There’s no way of telling from those numbers. At best we could say that with 54% of men being single and childless, that must mean that 46% of black men have children. That would make more sense.

But then, how many are married or partnered without children? No idea. He doesn’t have those stats.

Also that's not what happened but you obviously going to this discussion with a bias.

2. He says 30% of black men are married and that children that come out of those unions are exempted.

He then goes on to mention that this leaves the lion share of black women having children with unmarried men, who in turn will logically have kids with multiple women due to male/female ratio.

If 54% men aren't having kids this leaves 46% of men who have kids.

If 30% of black men are married, a subset of those men will have kids.

This means logically that the lion share of black kids come from a small subset of black men. And this is corroborated when we look at the fact that 72% of black kids come from out of wedlock homes.

Actually to explain further, while I do think that hypergamy is real when it comes to marriage, I don’t think it’s true with casual sex.

I think that people use the word hypergamy when what they really mean is strategic pluralism. Two different things.

Hypergamy is about money and status. Women obviously want to marry a man who can provide a certain lifestyle.

Strategic pluralism on the other hand is about what makes women horny vs what they choose practically in the long term (which would be the hypergamy part). They don’t choose casual sex partners based on status, that’s not what turns them on.

It’s more about a man with a dominant personality, “bad boy” types. Many of these guys don’t really have any status.

It’s kind of like for us men the difference between what we’d look for in a wife vs what we search for in porn. In a wife we want a girl who is sweet, loyal, would make a good mother. In porn we want he big titted blonde slut who loves swallowing cum and getting fucked in the ass.

Hypergamy is about status mainly. The word hypergamy originates from a study done on the Indian caste system, where it was found that women would always want to marry up in terms of status, never down. Hypergamy is purely about relationships and marriage. It’s about women choosing practically based on who they believe can provide the best lifestyle long-term.

Guys like Rollo Tomassi and other red pillars use the term hypergamy wrongly, because the proper term for what they speak about is strategic pluralism. This also better explains the things you’re speaking about here. It’s about the difference between what women find sexually arousing vs what they’d look for in a long term provider.

No, but it does speak to women's mindsets about men. I don't blame women for wanting the best men they can get. I don't know why so many men get upset about that. We should want women to strive for the best men they can find. We should want men to do the same. It's not a question of 80-20. It's a question of why only 20% of men can get women's attention.

The statistics are different depending on age. 97% of black men ages 15-19 are childless, 75% of 20-29 year olds are childless and so on. All ages are combined into that over all statistics of ”54%”. That’s not really interesting to look at as it doesn’t tell us much. If we instead look at how many percent of a bit ”older” men are childless we get a better view of how many actually walk through life childless (granted men can father kids even at 95 years old). If you look at black men aged 40-49 years old 81% of them have kids and 19% are childless. You should also look at the rate of childless black women and compare. Among black women aged 40-44 years old 15% are childless. So about 19% of black men and 15% of black women end up childless. Not a very big difference and is that difference due to more men than women not wanting kids or more men than women having a hard time finding a partner to have them with? Probably a combination of both. Either way with 81% of black men ending up having kids it’s obviously not a case of 80% of women being/having kids with only 20% of men…

And yes, the top 5% of the population will obviously have it easier to find a date, how is that weird? It’s very obvious and logical that if someone happen to be more desired than others that they will have it easier than others. Just as certain items will be sold out the same day they arrive to the store while other items will barely even sell when put on the sales rack. That’s how reality works.

Finally someone who understands that statistics rarely mean what they appear to mean on the surface. I didn't bother to look up more statistics, but it was obvious that some important stats were missing. The number of women having kids is critical for instance. You can't draw any conclusions at all without that number.

And the whole xx% are attracted to xx% is meaningless. Of course people are attracted to attractive people! But when 90-95% of the population gets married, it's quite obvious that there is more to it than "who is the hottest".

One set of stats rarely has much meaning by itself, yet people jump to conclusions that can't be jumped to.

@snsl153 I believe @Lookingforthetruth is using the metric of the number of women that reach out to men on dating sites. I think the number you're referring to is the percentage of men that are active w/ women. I believe the number is closer to 20% but I wouldn't argue w/ 10%.

I don't know where those statistics come from, but most black kids are NOT fathered by the highest-earning/educated black men.
