Has pregnancy ever stopped you from getting something you wanted in life?

My best friend and I were going to see if we could put a band, or at least a recording project, together when she got pregnant and wasn't able to make music her life's goal, anymore, as it had been her entire life.

Has something like that ever stopped you from achieving your life's goal?
