Women are homemakers! Why is taking care of your family an insult? Is my husband hungry? Does he want a sammich I can make him something yummier. I was widowed at a young age so I had to go back to work! But why’s taking care of your family an insult? Women belong in the house being domestic. A great day for me would be cleaning the house, making healthy meals with clean Whole Foods and then making love. What’s wrong this?
+1 yWell the insult come from the perspective that woman are slaves in all they do is clean the house and make the food. When I was younger the joke going around was “woman go make me a pie!” I got in to the habit of it and loved saying it to girls I knew thought it was funny as an end the conversation type comment. I got to using it so much though that I lost control of when I said it.

What does a woman taking care of her family have to do with being a slave. Is the guy a slave for changing the car oil? Pumping the gas? Getting out of bed and checking on the scary noise? Like it’s my car I drive it should I change the oil and pump my gas or should he do it for me? Does that make him a slave?

No no! I mean when the man treats the woman like a slave. The command go make me a sandwich as if that is all the woman is good for is where the insult come from. And most good men only joke about the insult when they say it. But there are foolish boys that say things like that and get slapped for it.

He should say please can you go make me a sandwich. But does he want a sandwich, is he hungry? Then I’ll go make it for him. Sit watch your game

For sure! And in that moment you are an amazing wife who deserves every inch of love he can afford and every moment of sneaky and outspoken passion he can muster!

I'm the type of man who doesn't feel the need for things to be 50/50. If it ever got close, i'd be ashamed of myself. It's in my nature to work, get home, and work some more. Why? Because it needs to get done. I don't need to be told thank you for doing what is expected or me either. What I do need and appreciate though is a woman who doing what she can to optimize my time and offer a less stressful environment.
Doing things doing the dishes, washing closes, making dinner, making my lunch to bring to work tomorrow.20 Reply
+1 yIf he’s hungry and making himself a sandwich he can make me one too.
I don’t ask. I don’t expect him to ask. I do make him one if I am making my own, but I’m not a slave. Nor do I expect him to be. Free sandwiches end up in the fridge for the next taker…

What does taking care of your family have to do with being a slave? When he gives you protection and provision, does he say I’m not a slave. You protect me? What exactly do you offer?

Just out of curiosity if there’s a strange noise does he make you get outta bed and go see what it is? Does he say I did it last time this time you do it? Does he say you drove your car you change your own oil? Or does he do it for you?

We clearly have very different views. And that is okay.

You have a different idea of respect than I do. I respect the fact that he's a grown ass man, and he respects that I'm not his mother.
He knows what I like, and I know what he likes. So again, this isn't for you to decide, especially through your own metric.
Babe, I live in the woods. I have a shotgun. I've shot at bears and people before, even at night. If you're too weak to do things on your own, that's your problem - +1 y
1. Good for them, I'm not their mother. I'm their partner.
2. I wouldn't know about that, I despise my father. Plus he neither provided more than legally required, nor did he protect at all.
3. Good for you. I haven't had a single complaint. Thankfully, I don't much care about your opinions or even consider your views. You do you. - +1 y
You: I despise my father

Hmmm 🤔 so if there’s a weird noise a scary noise should I get outta bed & go check it myself or should hubby? Since I drive my own car shoukd I change my oil or should he? Is he being subservient & submissive? Or is he being loving?
+1 yI have no idea. People like to find things to be offended over.
Whst relationship works for someone might not be for another. But who cares.
00 ReplyIt can be derogatory in a sense, Its a dominant male thing to say to a submissive female. It can be used as a sexist remark.
"Woman go make me a sandwich" vs. "Can you please make me a sandwich?"

Ok yes I prefer please make me a sandwich. However, just go make your hubby a sandwich or something yummier
+1 yBecause for many "boys", its an expectation.

Money might be an issue, but just finding a way to make it all work is the trick. I know a family with 8 kids and very low income. They make it work every day.
