My girlfriend refuses to wear deodorant and its a turn off when im with her because of it. I told her bluntly but refuses to wear it. what to do?

I tried to bluntly tell her that she smells like BO around me without deodorant and she refuses to wear it even still. she claims the chemicals in it cause kidney problems or something but i looked it up and its extremely rare that happens.

I don't know what else to do. i don't want to break up because i like her a lot. but this is turning me off a bit that she refuses to do something as basic as wearing deodorant.

Consider showing her Native or other all natural, low chemical alternatives.

But ultimately this is up to her.

Does she not shower regularly? Even hitting her pits with some basic soap and water every few hours will help with the smell. Ivory and a wash cloth is all you need.

she does shower daily thankfully. everything else about her is clean and smells good especially her hair but... yeah the BO is turning me off a bit

Does she thoroughly wash her underarms with scented soap/body wash when she’s showering? There’s no way there’s BO after that.

well obviously not right after she won't smell. but after awhile especially if its been a hot day it does smell a bit.

Okay. You stop wearing deodorant for a few days until you stink. Then raise your arms near her face. When she complains, tell her you won’t wear deodorant until she starts to.

Even if she is against “conventional” deodorant why doesn’t she use natural deodorant or wash up more frequently? It seems odd.
I do think you have to just be upfront with her even more so and really convey how much it’s bothering you
