Every time something funny happens and we laugh in group, she always looks at me, what could this be?

So, we go to classes with a same group of friends and we hang out between classes and whenever something funny happens, or something odd happens, in 90% of time we share eye contact. I like this girl and I'm pretty sure she knows that, as I gave her lots of compliments and flirted with her and even asked her out for a drink (which she agreed to go to when she has more time, but month has passed and nothing happened).

In that group of friends, there are her best girl friends, but she nearly always first look at me in those situations and then to them (I know that as I look at her first, lol). We've known eachother for a year now, but started to get closer from july-august. I started flirting with her more, giving her compliments, she always responded positively etc.

What bugs me is that she goes out every weekend with her closest friends but never invited me. Should I try to invite myself somehow (and how to do it, maybe it would be too needy?). Her behavior has, if we follow signs of attraction, much more positive than negative signs so I'm starting to think maybe she wants to go slow and first to know me better (her last boyfriend was her friend from school). We weren't supposed to be in same group for classes but she wanted me to join them and I guess it's a good sign, also.

So what do you think? Any idea how to handle this? I'm most likely overthinking all of this...

It definitely sounds like she's into you! The way she always looks at you first when something funny happens is a good sign she wants to share the moment with you. And the fact that she responded well to your compliments and flirting before is also a good sign.

As for why she hasn't invited you out yet, my guess is she probably just wants to take things slow since you guys are in the same friend group. Jumping into things could make it awkward if it didn't work out.

I'd say just keep doing what you're doing - being friendly, making her laugh, dropping casual compliments here and there. You could also try asking HER out for something low-key one-on-one, like coffee or lunch, instead of inviting yourself to group stuff. That shows your interest without coming on too strong.

If she says yes, see how the date goes before trying to get too involved in big group plans. Once she sees you guys click alone, she may open up more to including you. Just take it step-by-step and don't overthink! It sounds promising so far, just stay cool and be yourself. You got this man!

We aren’t there to see these moments so who knows how she feels, but judging off this alone I’d say it’s friendly. Put yourself in her shoes a moment, you openly acknowledge you look at her first each time, right? So wouldn’t it make sense that she notices this and that’s why she looks as well? You really put it out there through your actions that you’re interested and she isn’t reciprocating, or even mentioning that date you tried to set. To me, she’d be excited and eager to make that happen if she were interested.

Accidentally posted this before I finished what I wanted to say. I think you should be blunt, tell her you are interested and ask her out. I know it’s scary but validation would help going forward and if you don’t want to ask her out because you fear the dynamic changing or something then it’s better to forget this altogether.

Thank you for your honest opinion. I would have to add some detail about looking at me when laughing. As our classes are some kind of active ones, we have to stand a lot of time and when she is standing in front of me, she turns around to look at me when laughing, so ofc It's not always that I look at her first, many times when I look at her, she already looks at me. Not only that, when we sit in classes and we hear some interesting/ surprising news, even tho she sits across her best friend, she looks at me and it happened quite a lot of times.
But you are probably right, it could be just friendly behavior, but there are lots of things that confuses me about it, as she acts differently with me compared to other guy friends. Thanks again, appreciate you taking time to share your opinion!

I mean, you two are in the same friend group and I think it’s safe to say you’ve become friends as well. The fact you are a guy shouldn’t make a difference, because at the end of the day she just isn’t as cool with those other dudes as she is with you and your group. You two have created a dynamic where you laugh or take interest in similar things, and it’s like she already knows if this or that is said, she will look over and you’re having whatever reaction that she does too, which I think is fun for sure. But is there more to it? Based of this alone I’d say no, however there’s no way of knowing until she confirms or denies. Also no worries! I’ve dealt with this in the past so that’s why my opinion is this way.
