Does it sound like she low key doesn't like me?

Ever since i was a little girl My mom had always been negative towards me. She always called me slow, dumb and would say i acted weird. She never gave out hugs or anything. Now im grown and she's STILL NEGATIVE! She sends me videos to my phone of people saying "That's why you're by yourself with a kid." Or send another video of a woman saying, "he doesn't want your kid so why did you keep it". She just asked me why do i want my kid dad around when he doesn't want my child in front of her even wished death on her. Does it sound like she low key hates me? Every time i talk to her, my head starts spinning. 😤

That’s definitely not low key. My mom was the same way but she did it so subtle that you’d not even know she was abusing you. Self centered, blamed me for everything and even when I vented to her about my sexual assault, she made it about herself. Your mom sounds like an absolute nightmare and I’d cut her off. She’s clearly jealous and miserable and I’d go no contact with her, I went no contact with my mother as well. Also reading into narcissism has helped me understand her thought process. People like that NEVER change.

Yes. not to mention, when i use to give her things for her birthday such as perfumes etc. She NEVER worn it. She said it was too CHEAP. And when my brother and i were staying with her ( i was in college, he wasn't doing anything with himself but stealing my money.) I told her he was stealing my money, she said "that has nothing to do with me". When i got played by guys, she literally LAUGHED about it. When my kid dad left me, she started sending videos to my phone of people saying, "You're a single mom. Get over it. He doesn't want you or the baby". Then would say "it was a joke. Why you can't take a joke. Smh. I also remember My sister boyfriend SPIT on me and i told her that. She let him right back into the house and said "you're messing with him" sadly, i was the only one giving her $600 just to go to school at her house. The guys however, had no jobs what-so-ever. Smh

Mind you i was in COLLEGE. paying her $600/mo. She got a man. I told her he kissed me on my neck. She said, "he's short. Im sure he didn't mean it in a negative way. And even said, "if you put negative things out about him, i will have him murder you" 😑I was @19-23. Smh. Sometimes when we disagree she just says hope my kid dies.

It sounds like you have a narcissistic mother, and I hate to say it. I doubt things will improve, therefore it's wise to put some distance between you and her. Best wishes

Life is too short to tolerate toxicity from others especially family. I would rather live in the woods than under the roof of an abusive family member
