Wondering if anyone else has had the situations before or if a girl can give me their perspective.
Girl at gym stares at me from afar. But when we are close she finds some other guy in the vicinity and goes and strikes up a conversation. I think its worth nothing that most of the time when this happens her body and feet are turned towards me regardless of how the other guy is facing.
I also get the feeling that she is trying to subtly pay attention to me /where my attention is, when she is talking to the other dude. I swear she talks overly loud and fake laughs too, like she is making sure I notice how much "fun" she is having talking to somone else. She does this all the time, yet she has never come up to me directly?
Is this her way of getting my attention? Is she trying to make me jealous? Is she immature?

Dude, it totally sounds like she's into you but is shy or playing hard to get for some reason. No doubt she's trying to make you jealous and get your attention on her by flirting with other guys like that in front of you.
Some girls are just really indirect like that cause they don't wanna seem too eager, you know? But it's obvious from all the staring and turning towards you even when talking to others that she's really paying attention to your reactions.
If I were you, I'd start making more eye contact with her when you catch her looking. Smile big so she knows you're onto her game. Then maybe find an excuse to walk by when she's chatting someone up and say a quick hey, see how she responds.
No doubt she wants you to make a move! But you gotta play it cool too, can't let her know how much she's getting under your skin with all the playing hard to get. Next time you got a chance, take the chance to strike up a convo and ask for her number. Bet she says yes!
