What does a guy mean when he says talk to you soon with a smiley face next to it?

I had a good time with a guy I knew in college. we hooked up and realized that we didn't want to do the random hook up so I suggest we be friends and maybe hang out platonic. he replied with deff:) talk to you soon. is he really going to talk to me soon or was this the end?

Probably means he likes the thought of seeing you and looks forward to it.

At least that's why I'd put a smiley face like that.

We are both sexually attracted to each other. But neither of us wants a relationship or a just sexual relationship. So maybe for now we could be friends, til we want more or if we don't its cool.
