I've accidently hit my girlfriend?

Question

It looks really bad. So I have punching back at home and I was working out, when she came in.

We joked and fooled around a bit. She was basically standing behind the bag, holding it , while I punched it. Then suddenly she let it go and my punch hit right at the face.

I feel so bad now. She said it was OK, it was an accident and her fault, but still. Is there anything I can do to make it up to her?

It's also kinda awkward telling people what happened. She thinks its funny and laughs about it, but people always look angry at me, when she tells that story

all you can do is just feel really crappy about it and spend a lot of time making it up to her even if she says "oh honey it's fine" I think always feeling bad about it is the way to go LOL it's OK if she thinks it's funny but you should never think it's funny or make light of it. Just make sure she knows you feel badly about it and you're embarrassed by it.

I would say get her jewelry or something but then it looks like you're one of those abusive guys who beat their gf's and give them flowers or something to get them back LOL

just let it make you appreciate what you have...dont buy her anything to mark the occasion lol

but for Valentine's day? dude...go big ;)

I probably would be like your girlfriend in that situation I'd laugh about it and tell you its okay. Of course I'd laugh about it once the pain subsides...and the bruise disappears. OMG...does she have a bruise on her face? Ahahahaha! It prob looks like you're an abusive boyfriend if she does have a bruise on your face and you two go out places together. But she can dispell any negative thoughts like that by jokingly telling the story of how she got it. lol

Haha. Don't worry about people looking angry, an ex of mine would tell this story when we were together about this one time I tackled her. When it happened, it was the funniest thing in the world, but people also thought of me of the horrible violent boyfriend.

Sometimes, what actually happened and what people perceive from a 5 minute story is worlds apart.

Appologize. Take her out. Get her a helmet of some kind. Either that or next time just make sure she sticks to the kitchen and doesn't leave it unless she is bringing you a sandwich! lol Joking! But in all seriousness, don't let her hold your punching bag again unless she has headgear.

I'd say that girl is overdue for a full body massage! treat her. get her a gift cert to a parlor. with a charm bracelet with little gold boxing gloves. it will show you put some thought into it. it would be a clear message that even if she doesn't make a big fuss, you care for her well being and how she feels about you.

I still do not understand how you could have connected and hit her in the face?

Isn't your punching bag attached to the ceiling? If so, how could she have let it go and your fist hit her face? Unless she swung it, or the bag swung to the side and exposed her face? Surely, your fist would have hit the bag and the bag would have hit her face indirectly no?

Unless it was no punching bag but a target pouch or something...
