Why would a guy do a double-take, stare at you for a few seconds and then walk off?

So there's this guy at University. He will sometimes look up at me from the corner of his eye, with his head tilted and then smile but won't say anything other than "Hi" but he can talk just fine with other girls.

Recently, it's happened a few times now, he will be walking past me or down the corridor, he will notice me, carry on walking and then stop just to come back and look at me again and then he will walk off!

Is he playing games with me?...I'm so confused by him!

Means he likes what he sees and he wants another look. Beyond that, I have no idea. Why he doesn't do anything is anyone's guess, and seeing as I don't know him, or you, and haven't seen this guy in action there is no way I can give you a singular, clear, concise, accurate prediction of why he does this.

Reasons he'd do this can range from a variety of things, such as any of the following, but not limited to my list.

He could be into you, and never said anything because he doesn't have the courage, or figures you have someone else, and fails to see the point in trying, or he figures you're out of his league. He could be doing this because he's already has someone, a girlfriend or whatever.

There's also the possibility that it's not about your looks, and just assumes you're someone else. Though if this is a repeated incident, then maybe you just look like someone else. There's also the outside chance that it was what you were wearing, and he wants to check it out. Still I doubt it.

Anyway, it's not that important, and you could drive yourself nuts trying to figure it out, so don't bother. If this guy interests you then do something about it. Make a move. If not, just forget about him, or tell him to piss off if this bothers you. I don't see how this needs much analysis.
