There's no "could" there, smiling over a jacket only happens if you like the attention/compliment but giggling's only when the guy gives you butterflies. Also, some other girls are saying they'd take the jacket, but it wouldn't affect them a whole lesson and they probably wouldn't say "no, you keep it" even to be polite, an "are you sure?" would be way more suitable. You can tell her, but I wouldn't too fast, I'd just visit areas she frequents a little more, smile as you strike up conversation with her, etc. If she reacts the same way, namely giggly, you're "in".
P.S. If you see her smelling your jacket, it is a definite go. Don't make ANY changes in your maintenance of hygiene if that's happening.

I'd take the jacket even if I didn't like the guy like that... but her giggling at u, could mean something more... how her friends reacted would have also been a good indication of whether she likes you or not...
Yes she will take it if she's not attracted. She was just cold and care about herself being warm. I wore a man's jacket before that I didn't care about. It was in the winter time and I was freezing like crazy so I borrowed it and I was saying to myself eeew.
she probably likes you :) but if I was cold and someone offered me their coat I would wear it even if I liked them as just a friend.
