Why does my girlfriend want attention/reassurance all the time?

My girlfriend tends to be very sensitive and wants attention all the time.

For example she finished work and I asked her to come over to mine . She got to mine around 2330 I ran the bath for her and had a glass of wine ready for her because she said she had a rough day.

She said she's been feeling run down and unwell lately.

The next morning we were planning to go to the gym before she went to work. She said she didn't want to be late for work so I was rushing her to get ready and go to the gym. I then told her I was planning on watching the football at 1pm. But she thought I was rushing her so I could get back in time for the football (This wasn't the case)

She then said looks you want to get rid of me and went home to hers instead. We didn't go to the gym.

She then text me later saying I got the impression you didn't want to spend time with me this morning.

I replied saying I do want to spend time with her but was rushing her because she didn't want her late for work.

I get confused with her sometimes.

I don't know if its because she's unwell lately and just being a WOMAN.

Or she wants attention and reassurance all the time. She clearly knows I want to spend time with her but sounds like she wants reassurance all the time.

How can I tackle this problem.

Well talking about it is usually the best thing. Communication is a huge part of any relationship. Tell her how you feel. But make sure you use me-messages. Example rather than saying "You constantly need reassurance" say "I feel like you constantly need reassurance." So that it's about your feelings, rather than her actions. This tends to help people be empathetic rather than defensive.

She's not feeling well , so she is a little sensitive.If she does this often just have a heart to heart talk with her about it,asking what her fears are and why,then you say your part.It takes time to heal from past hurts so sometimes we need that special guy to help us through the healing.

She is very insecure person I do want to give her reassurance all the time I guess but I don't want to flood her with praise and attention. I know to much of that can be annoying. Think will give her reassurance a bit more than usual and see how it goes from there. We just got back together after a split maybe that's why she feels she needs a bit more

yes that might have been really hard on both of you and she wants to make sure you are both on the same page so there are no surprises

Firs tthing don't approach it as a "problem" you have to "tackle". She is a person, not a football game. Secondly, just talk to her about it. Honesty and open communication are two things you should be doing in a relationship. She will appreciate your HONESTY. Good luck
