Why does he always call right before bed?

I know you read the question and want to jump to the obvious and sexual conclusion, but wait. Let me give you some background info.

So, I've been talking to this guy. Nothing serious, but we enjoy each others conversation.Anyway, I've begun to notice a pattern. I can call him any time of the day and he will almost immediately ask me to call him later.

I know that he's busy, but I think its quite strange. At first I thought it may be a booty call type deal. But we don't have phone sex or anything. We may talk about sex along with religion or anything else.

Could it be a way to control our interactions? Maybe limiting how much we talk so nothing too serious will develop. Or maybe the mushy explanation that he likes me to be the last person he talks to before bed. Idk. Any thoughts?

Me and my boyfriend used to talk to each other every night before bed, before we were going out.. and even now, we still do (not in a weird sexual way).. I've found that other guys in the past seem to like this too.. I used to think nothing serious would happen with my current boyfriend, but eventually it did.. (happened with two other guys in the past.. and a girl.. )

Think maybe, the mushy explanation is the best one.. don't think about it too much, and enjoy it? night convos are the best because it's the time of the day when you're not too rushed, have nothing weird going on to distract you, and you're nice and relaxed.. it's the perfect time to have a good conversation with someone.. and you get to dream about them afterwards.. sometimes..

Thats true. We have much better conversations at night and I can tell that he enjoys talking to me. There's something about laying in bed that makes conversation more open and relaxed. Pillow talk over the phone. Lol. Thanks for the comment. :)

It could be 2 things, He could be in a relationship and only wants you for conversation and that's it . Or he just want to talk to you for a little while to pass time, And by him calling late before bed . Would give him an excuse to talk but to tell you , I'm not going to hold you up so I will let you get some rest .

Well he's definitely not in a relationship. And when we do talk at night, we have 2 hour conversations. He doesn't rush off the phone or make lame excuses to hang up. I guess he's just busy during the day. Thanks for the comment. :)

He's either really busy or just not that interested. If he was super interested in you he would wanna talk when you call him. Unless you are calling at inappropriate times.

Now that I think about it, he is very busy. I can always hear something going on in the background when he asks to call me back. Sometimes I hear the gym or the sound of his truck radio. I guess it's nice that he thinks to call me back when he does finally wind down. Nothing more annoying than trying to talk to someone who's obviously doing a million other things. Maybe its his way to have you think of him. Last thought before bed is usually first thought in morning. At least for me-sublimital message? Maybe Im too cynical?
