I'm leaving G@G; here's why.

SketchForger

So I'm going to be deleting my account 3 days after I post this myTake.

I have about 10 reasons why, I'm sure none of you care, but I'm posting this anyway with a few quick doodles I made to lighten the mood.

Consider it a little effort put into something I used to care about. That being this website.

So strap in for

10 reasons I'm leaving G@G.

I'm leaving G@G; here's why.

1.) This is eating up my time.

I have shit to do, and it's bad enough that I'm committing a myTake to explaining why I'm leaving.

I can't tell you how many times I've found myself pointlessly scrolling through this website. Either waiting for a reply, or (even more pathetic) waiting for a question I'd be interested in answering.

Bottom line is this site is just eating away at my life, and I need to correct that; permanently scrub it away.

2.) The way G@G is designed.

____________________________________

This site is designed (for-the-most-part) to enable insecurity and close-minded discussion.

I can't tell you how many divisive and polarized questions I've seen being completely featured without even so much as a repremand. This website WANTS controversy and insecurity.

It has an entire category labeled "How do I look?". Which in part feels like a joke, but it's not, it's completely serious and expects people to take it seriously.

This website is designed for people who are either too vain or too opinionated to realise how little their time spent on this website ACTUALLY matters. Which I will touch upon later.

3.) I've done my part.

____________________________________

The only two reasons that I stayed on this website were that I used to write satire, and I made a few friends along the way.

The friends of whom I still talk to regularly are people I can talk to even if I leave this site, so that's one reason to stay out of the way.

I'm not very funny, and whenever I write satire that makes people call me a "genius", it becomes very depressing that I deliver minimal quality to those who eat up my garbage like rodents.

I'm done writing, and I want to focus on improving my animation, rather than writing shitt Op Ed's.

4.) It's killing my brain cells.

____________________________________

This site makes me feel way more smart than I actually am. Mainly because many of you are so unreasonably stupid that it makes every piece of advice I give sound like common sense.

This website was entertaining for a while but it's an old joke that stopped being funny a while ago.

5.) I keep telling people things that I shouldn't.

____________________________________

____________________________________

I have told/shown people on this site that I really should have kept to myself.

Nobody on this site (not even my friends) know my full name. But a few people I've talked to now know things I shouldn't have told them, and have seen things I shouldn't have shown them.

I have a lot of regretful naivety when it comes to this website, which has made me less trusting of people in general.

My social interactions with people on this sight have lead to less than dignified results, placing my self respect PRETTY low.

6.) I have actual friends outside of here.

____________________________________

Not to drop any nuggets of disappointment, but if you admire my work, or even my satire, I'm not exactly eager to be your friend. I'm not exactly good friend material (I'm pretty lucky to still have the friends I do now) so we probably wouldn't get along.

This website SHOULD not, and after this, WILL not be my social life. I will be happy to delete this account after I scrub my account clean.

7.) G@G doesn't care about you in the slightest.

This might get me banned before I can even leave. But I don't care at this point.

G@G as a website does not care about its users.

There are many rule and limitations on this platform, hinting (if not confirming) that this website cares more about generating advertising revenue and maintaining control more than user interaction and user safety.

I will list them since people are often skeptics.

A.) The "questions per day" limitation.

This website has shit server maintenance, to the point where servers will kill themselves if a popular question has more traffic than usual.

Limiting the number of questions you can ask is NOT the website's way of eliminating spam ( because there are already rules against spam and unauthorized links being shared.

It is G@G's way of making sure it can insentivise users to answer questions instead of asking them (because asking questions doesn't generate as many advertisements.) it also makes an environment for the garbage servers to handle themselves, even if 100 people answer a question at the same time, causing the servers to have an aneurysm.

B.) Not allowing social solicitation.

I'll keep this short, any website that doesn't let you ask for a discussion is not trying to keep stalkers out of your inbox. They are trying to keep you out of your inbox, so you continue to browse through the advert bombarded live feed. It's a very obvious tactic and I've seen it done plenty of times.

C.) Not allowing member posting.

Most sites don't allow targeted harassment, which is fine, but this website doesn't even allow the SLIGHTEST insinuation that another user is causing problems, because that's a negative.

My "year of G@G" video presented noting but factual information about a certain user causing problems (screenshots, audio, etc) with no insults whatsoever. And it was taken down because I mentioned the user and had a negative narrative associated with them.

If you can't handle an influencer leaving the website 3 times, then you better make sure your influencers aren't sexually harrasing people.

Is that so difficult?

All I'm saying, is at a certain point, G@G paid you in Amazon gift cards as an insentive to stay. Think about that.

8.) Many of you don't need advice, you need a psychologist.

Many of people I've talked to on this website are either emotionally vulnerable, cognitively vulnerable, or both.

I've seen people who do not believe rape or abuse is wrong, people who think men are out to get them, people who think women are out to get them, and best of all; pedophiles that had moderators defending their actions.

I have had people lie to my face and claim they are psychic, instead of telling me a VERY easy and obvious truth.

I have seen people who are pathological liars in every aspect that label implies. I have seen people brag about sexual assault, then plead for forgiveness when they are faced with consequences.

I have been threatened for the smallest comments about people like this, and repremanded by G@G for daring to say anything negative in response.

Many of you are genuinely in need of help, and I can't stand that this site enables the vulnerable to get themselves mixed up with venomous and predatory people.

People have told me that I am too harsh to people online. I've been told that I should leave people alone for these events, or that I am wrong for insinuating anything about their online "friends."

The moment I realized that people genuinely believe certain influencers are their friend is when I realized I had to leave. This website is an orbiter breeding ground, and it's only purpose is to create obsessive parasocial relationships.

A lot of problems I see on this site don't need advice, they need counseling. And the fact that some of them even pretend to work in mental health advocacy proves my point even more.

9.) The reason people stay on this website.

____________________________________

There's a phrase that personifies this site pretty well.

"I'd rather rule in hell than serve in heaven."

That's what this site feels like to me.

I see MANY influencers who act like this website is their turf. They act as if this website is indicative of any noteriety that they would NEVER have gained elsewhere.

Well it's about time I escaped from hell, and came back to the real world.

10.) I am a bad thing for this site if i began to care.

____________________________________

____________________________________

If I actually cared about this site, I would write satire every week about influencers that are causing trouble.

G@G staff members literally cannot do anything if I don't mention a username (besides doing the "depromotion" thing they usually do, which has never actually worked)

And when these influencers have a mental breakdown, lose followers and friends, and go into Skype calls to cry about their none existent social status, I would move onto the next person.

I have caused someone to leave this site twice, and another person to leave just because I caused people to turn against them.

I am bad for advertising business, and even worse as a drama enabler.

Final Wrap Up.

I am not coming back to this site, and I'll probably make a lot of people happy by saying this.

Overall, it was pretty hilarious, and my only regret upon leaving is that I didn't do it sooner.

I hope you, the reader who I wasn't talking about when I talked about insane people, have a lovely day.

My account will be gone in 3 days from now.

Goodbye everyone.
