The future of my girlsaskguys account

It's been 8 years since I created my Girlsaskguys account and I have to say that I have enjoyed my time interacting with the folks on this website. I've met some cool people on this website and I also enjoyed sharing opinions with others. However since I don't log into Girlsaskguys anymore and after thinking about it, I have decided to cancel/delete my Girlsaskguys account. I know that i said I would never close my girlsaskguys account but things change you know and I do feel that it is best if I close my girlaskguys account. What made me decide this?

I don't have time to visit this website as much anymore: I'm getting older and having finally graduated from college, I am also in the process of starting a career which is making it harder to find time to visit this website. I've also developed new hobbies that I would rather take part in during my free time than spending time on a website.

Mental health is important: With so much change, my mind is a battlefield at the moment. As some of you know, I suffer from OCD(Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and every time I enter a new era in my life, I get a flare up or a phase where my OCD becomes very crippling. Obviously I am not in the mood to spend time on a website and possibly interacting with random toxic people on this website, that would be bad for my mental health. The funny thing is that back in 2016 when I first created my girlsaskguys account I had just overcome an OCD flareup which I experienced after graduating from high school in 2015 and now 8 years later another OCD flareup has contributed to my decision to cancel my Girlsaskguys account and instead tend to my mental health.

Overcoming a bad habit: spending too much time on the internet is a bad habit and by closing my Girlsaskguys account I will be fighting against this bad habit and instead I'll go get some fresh air and sunlight outside because a lack of fresh air and sunlight might be what is contributing to my OCD flareup.

I don't want to leave my Girlsaskguys account unattended: I know many users on this website don't deactivate their accounts but at the same time they don't log in anymore. I don't feel comfortable doing that because I worry that some hacker will access my account. So yeah it's much safer to deactivate my account.

There is nothing wrong with this website: I am not deactivating my account because I don't like this website anymore, I actually like this website's anonymity, layout, topics, question asking etc. And it pains me to have to deactivate my Girlsaskguys account but again things change and it's best if I deactivate my Girlsaskguys account.

I may return in the future: Even though I am going to deactivate this Girlsaskguys account, I may create another Girlsaskguys account in the future, once things start to stabilize for me but for now auf wiedersehn, goodbye, adios.

I'll be leaving my Girlsaskguys account up for a few days but after that, I'll be deactivating it.

You're an idiot. All you have to do is just not type in the url into the address bar. If you say you may return in the future, then maybe having the same account might have utility.

It might be interesting to preserve the same account for people (possibly internet historians) to see the human development that a person undergoes over the course of many years. I for one have always treated my internet accounts as disposable and ephemeral, but lately these last few years I've been posting a lot of textual diatribes and stuff. I wonder how interesting it would have been to have a collection of my thoughts from ten or fifteen years ago. I wonder how interesting it would have been to read my thoughts on dating back when I was a blue pilled f-word.

But I didn't post back then. And it would have just been confusion anyway.

Please reconsider. An account with usage over many years should be able to provide some real insight into the human condition. You don't have to nuke your account, you can just move on and forget about it.

And if you're worried about your account getting hacked, (why would it?) you can just change the password.

Sorry to see you go man. Just know that there's good and toxic people wherever you go in life. Whether it's the workplace or a party... they're everywhere. I understand if you've transitioned to a different phase of your life and this app/site has not fulfilled you or helped you pass the time as it had in the past, and you may want to take your break from it now, but never say never man. You might be here again out of boredom or to see the community you miss. Wish ya the best in all aspects of your life! ✌🏼
