10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

Anonymous

Not every single stereotype might be always true for anyone, but from my experience those are the most dominant stereotypes I've noticed so far, when it comes to bodybuilders, or just people who are very much into fitness and gym-culture. In fact their overall behavior can make someone believe they view everything as "black" or "white", and "grey" area doesn't exist for them, and they're pretty naive as people.

Before we start, I should mention there's a good amount of criticism about their behavior and lifestyle, so if you are among those people, and you cannot handle criticism, don't read below.

(In alphabetical order)

1) Believing in "Alpha", "Beta", etc. hierarchy

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture.

There are only two types of people who believe in this absolutely inaccurate hierarchy. Overconfident narcissists who consider themselves "Alpha", and overly insecure people who consider themselves , "Delta" (they often mistakenly th , or in even worse cases, they consider themselves "Omega". Just nonsense. This type of hierarchy is clearly unofficial. Anyway, most people this MyTake is dedicated, fall into the first category.

2) Disliking rock-related genres

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

For some reason I've noticed such people don't fancy Rock-related genres much. Pretty bizarre, but the most possible explanation I can give is, they are not "work-out" genres. Since in gyms the most common music genre they play is modern-era Pop/R'n'B or Techno. Or perhaps they're being against their lifestyle, since many rockers are into drugs and alcohol.

3) Everyone who doesn't work-out is a "nerd"

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

Definitely inaccurate. Yeah it's true that stereotypical nerds don't work-out. But it doesn't mean whoever doesn't work out is a nerd by default. Not everything is black and white. There's a grey area too as I said in my prologue.

4) Following stereotypes more easily, in general

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

It's ironic to put it this here, since this myTake is about stereotypes as well. But the reason I mentioned above (#3) is a perfect example what I'm talking about. Or see #10 as well. Unfortunately, I've noticed this kind of naivety among those people. Stereotypes in general might be true among many people, or most people (depends on what kind of people we're talking about), but still not 100% accurate, as this MyTake is. I'm referring to most, not all.

5) Health-freakness

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

Well, I can understand why's that. But here they take it to another level. Those are the kind of people who won't be "OK" if they see someone smoking or drinking, but they will just feel disgusted instead, if they see someone who does. Also they walk on eggshells when it comes to diet. I've heard cases where they always check nutrition stats on each food they buy, buying only organic meat and such stuff. I'd call it an obsession personally, and this is not good.

6) Narcissism

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

I've seen this phenomenon, especially in those who happen to be much taller in height. Like being 6' tall for example or above. In my opinion there's nothing worse than narcissism, and it's one of the worst traits on a human being, if not the worst. I don't say it's good to lack confidence, but overconfidence is something that can make you repellent to anyone else.

7) Protein Shakes

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

Although I've seen them being sold at grocery stores, I've noticed they're being referred only by those people. I haven't met anybody else who actually consumes them, yet I can guess why they're more popular by them.

8. Right-Wing

When it comes to politics, they often tend to tilt towards a more right-wing direction. Why's that? See #9 and #10 below. Such people often fall into a Right-Wing direction.

9) Valuing marriage and purity in girls

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

I've noticed so far, they're the type of people who would rather marry a "good", "innocent", "chaste" girl and not sleep around. To be honest when I was a kid, I though they were the kind of people who thought they other way round, but as I was growing up, I realized I was being wrong here.

10) Very Lawful

10 Stereotypes About Guys Who Are Into Gym Culture

Most likely, those are the type of people who are going to call the police because they saw a "bad kid" doing a graffiti on a wall. Or when someone puts music a little bit louder after midnight. I want to mention here, those kind of people whether they're into gym culture or not, are getting on my nerves, since they have this mindset "all policemen are heroes". Not even close. Whoever has eyes to see and ears to hear, knows what I'm talking about, but I want proceed any further, since it's another issue not related with the present myTake.
