It seems like the tiniest distinction and essentially irrelevant to how its used, almost like a shade of blue. Everyone knows alpha beta without even really explaining it. Its super obvious. Its irrelevant that wolves live in packs and people have multiple social groups. I don't even see how that's relevant the behavior is exactly the same. Leader vs follower.
