I have this on/off thing with my crush - I may be overthinking, but I have noticed that his friends keep staring and smiling at me lately, I talked to one of his friends few times, but the ones who stare/smile very obviously I have never talked to. And one of his best friends lately said - hey to me, when he saw me on the street - I have never talked to him either. Does it mean anything? Do guys gossip a lot?

On/Off - I meant he is being hot/cold all the time, and I don't even know whether he is really interested in me.

I'll admit, it's not clear what may be going on with that group of friends.

I think the safest thing to do is not read too much into it nor try to figure out what it means. Just let it be.
