Guy's Behavior

Do I affect this guy? why do I feel like hates me?

this guy showed a ton of interest to me for months and i finally started to like him, i initiated things with him told him i liked him, he suddenly backed away and was playing hard to get. i didn't care either i was like whatever and he himself would try to be around me and make hardcore eye contact. he continued flirting but i got no phonecall no text and no date. so i stopped talking to him took it as rejection and moved along avoiding him. i found out he was flirting with other girls too. and now if i walk by ignore him he does the same, if i talk to his friend, he purposely talks to my friend, he's playing dumb games i dont get it. he also seems to be putting up angry Facebook statuses and acting like a jerk on social media but in person he acts all happy and chill like nothing is wrong trying to show he's unaffected. im the one who told him i liked him so why is he acting this way? we also ignore eye contact too now and dont look at each other.
