When a guy you know keeps looking and watching you?

There is this guy I'm friends with, he always looks over at me and watches me from a distance, every time I catch him he makes it look like he wasn't looking by turning around or turning his head quick! He is so fast at it that it's almost hard to notice. He especially looks if I'm talking to another guy, and he even notices other guys looking at me and just looks at them back or almost watches to see what my behavior is when it happens.
We're friends we talk when our paths cross he always smiles and makes eye contact or even sometimes put his hand on my back and always asks how I am.
I've noticed he never likes or comments on anything I put on facebook, but knows about what I have there.
He will out of the blue text me not sexual stuff but like maybe a flirty comment or tease me about something we did or talked about that day or the day before at 10-11 at night.
Does he seem interested?

It definitely sounds like he is interested, but its very unlikely he will make any sort of move without clear signs from you that you're also interested. If you like him, try getting more flirty with him. Start casually/flirtily touching him when you see him. Get more flirty with your text messages.

I can't promise this will do it. He still may see as asking you out as too big of a risk to your friendship. However, if he seems to respond positively to you stepping up the flirting, you'll know for sure that he likes you and you may have to be the one to make the first move. After that he should be confident enough to take the lead, but if he's anything like me, making the first move may be something he is very hesitant to do, especially with a friend.

I guess I'll start by maybe asking if he wants to grab a coffee, I guess coffee isn't really considered a date but hopefully being alone might get him the point!

Yeah, he's interested, he's just a little shy - he won't really try anything until he's got some indication that he won't get shot down.

Okay, that's actually pretty easy. When he jokes, laugh at it, but not too hard and not too often (you don't want to sell yourself short).

Be needy, but not too needy, for example, you can pretend you need some chewing gum, or a coffee, or maybe some help for something but don't do it too often.

Make sure that your body language is open, arms not crossed, and make more eye contact with him (though don't glare). Smile when you can.

Just remember, you also have to keep him on the edge, you don't want him to feel like you're desperate, but only just to tell him you're interested. Don't answer his calls or texts too quickly, don't drop numbers when you go out with him, for example, you can say you'd love to have coffee or lunch sometime, but don't be the one to set the date and time, let him do that. Also, expect attention, he has to give you attention, just make sure he actively cares how you feel (but be careful that he's not the jealous type), just don't get used.

The other day i was holding a pen and realized it was leaking ink, I asked him have I got any ink on my face and he smiled and gave me a really gentle look like I showed my valuable side and said no you don't have any really gentle tone with a really sweet smile.
