Is it normal for a guy and a girl who are best friends to cuddle? What does this mean?

My best friend is a guy, and I have very strong feelings for him. He's strong, funny, outgoing and makes me feel safe. We're very close and we tell each other everything. We've always been "touchy" with each other. I'll play with his hands and he won't pull away, or he'll tickle me or put his arm around me. Lately, at night we've been cuddling until we fall asleep. We normally spoon, but he'll stop after like ten minutes and fall asleep on his own. I think its because he gets hot but I don't really know for sure. To conceal how I feel for him in fear of losing our friendship, I've friend-zoned him pretty hard. I'll call him my best friend or brother even though I look at him as more. Once, I asked him how I should wake him up and he said "just hug me until I wake up. I mean, you could do other things but that's not really appropriate since you're my best friend." So he kinda friend-zoned me too I guess? Also, he always compliments me on my dresses or outfits. Once, I was getting ready for a date, and he said, "Damn you look like a babe. If I saw you walking on the street, I'd pick you up for sure." He always tells me he loves me and he says I'm his "backup wife" if his celebrity crush doesn't work out. I don't know if he feels the same way because he's always getting with sluttier girls and he talks about other girls with me. He'll always be like "Oh she's hot" and it makes me feel bad even though I don't show it. He's naturally flirty, so I can't tell if how he acts with me is special. I don't think he wants a relationship, but I want him to know how I feel without risking our friendship. Please help :(

Well before I had a boyfriend my best friend (a guy) and I used to cuddle all the time. It meant nothing to me other than it was comforting. I don't know if it ever meant anything to him. I don't think it did. We were always just pretty affectionate with each other. He liked me when we first became friends like 5 years ago and he excepted that I didn't like him and moved on. We both have significant others now and we are still close but we aren't that touchy anymore to respect the people we are with other than hugs. I would just talk to him and tell him how you feel though. You guys seem more serious than what we were.

Some friends do it but i wouldn't, i don't think its right cause y'all are friends and if friends cuddle then its going to turn into more just friends right? y'all friends for a reason cause y'all don't want to be in a relationship with one another.

It's not normal for just friends to cuddle. He may be wanting friends with benefits, or he might actually like you. You'll never know unless you straight up ask him. If you tell him everything, then why can't you tell him you have feelings for him?

He likes you but you friend zoned him so he's being a good boy. He never friend zoned you, you did it first, he's just playing along with what you wanted.
