If he was a jerk, like cheated on you, he's lost all credibility. If you go back into a relationship and have to watch over him, or wonder about his faithfulness, then it's not worth it. He shouldn't have ruined his reputation. Unless he goes out of his way to strongly express he wants to make good on what he's done wrong, then maybe.

We don't know the story with you guys, trust your judgement, if you don't want to give him a chance and he's not doing anything more than simply asking for a chance; he's not proving he's going to change.

Authentic jerks are usually more popular than a wannabe jerk. Authentic jerks also tend to be better looking, better in bed, and stronger than wannabe jerks. Authentic jerks brag about the laws they broken with confidence. wannabe jerks will speak of their accomplishments in a slightly shyer tone. Authentic jerks don't fight very often but won't hesitate to really hurt someone weaker than them if they are really annoyed. wannabe jerks will fight at the first thing that annoys them and they are usually scared of the consequences while authentic jerks are not.

thanks so much for taking the time to reply. i get it now. i think he is a wannabe jerk cause I've seen him be scared and do the talk but not the walk... he has insecurities but he's good at covering them and acting popular. he tries to say stuff to sound cool like he's so accomplished in life and has all these friends... but yea he's not all that. i ignore him he's ignoring me back and he broke my heart to chase another girl... like he was done toying with me now he found a new girl.
