Is there meaning to a guy leaves his hat with you twice?

Ok I am seeing this guy who we went to a party and he left his hat in my car. The next night we went to a concert and I was wearing it. Well he kept taking it from me flirting like, but that night I gave it back to him before we parted ways.. I found it in my car the next day. And I don't think that he is just forgetting it since he told me a story behind it and how important it is...

Could there possibly be a reason he is leaving it with me? And why is it?

Well. he entrust his hat with you so obviously he's showing you that he has trust in you.

Though I find this 'tactic' to be very cheap *g* it appears it is working, hehe. He wants to open your interest into his business and here you are making thoughts about his behavior ;)

So now there are two options for you and only one applies:

Opt1 - you like him - Give him back the cap and say something in the likes of "Hey, thanks for entrusting me your hat, but why don't you ask me out on a data instead? =)"

Opt2 - you don't like him - Give him back the cap and say something in the likes of "Hey, here's your cap. Next time better not forget it..."

For your sake, I hope anyone who leaves such a very important hat behind so often, is doing it by design. If it should actually prove to be a memory problem, I'd wanna find someone else to date, as I'd be afraid he'd eventually leave me behind as well.

I think he is leaving his hat in your car as an excuse to see you again, he might have made up the story about how important his hat is and then left it in your car so you make sure he gets it back and for you to give it back to him you will have to see each other, get what I mean?

what I'm thinking is that he probably left it in your car on purpose so you'd have no choice but to meet him up and pass the cap back to him. he is creating another opportunity for you guys to meet again.

This is an old but little remembered tradition. But could be tied easily to the phrase "a place to hang your hat." I had a (nice) hat that was left to me by one of my greatest mentors. I left it in Siberia with a girl that I care very deeply about. It was a way to say that I feel at home there, and plan to return at some point in my life. That was before Covid, and now there's a war on as though fate is asking me how much I really mean to honor that gesture, but I honestly believe that I'll find my way back someday somehow.

Yes, I think forgetting twice is too much especially if he loves the hat or says he means something about it. I think he is leaving it on purpose. I think he probably has a crush on you or likes you. You should definitely ask him out since you guys get along as well.

There's a very very very old trick people do when they want an excuse to see someone again, and that is leaving somethind behind at their place. It could be that or it could be he's just forgetful.
