Why do u stare?

My recent experience. I was eating at a food place with friends and this guy started looking at me. I didn't noticed til my friend told me and said he hadn't taken his eyes off me since he sat down. I looked up twice and both times he looked away quickly. I looked up again and he looked in my direction but his eyes were fixed like he was day dreaming looking right at the window. I walked past him to get some napkins and from the corner of eye I saw his eyes follow me.

While I was eating he was staring with a serious face. I could hear him talking with family and having a good time but why was he staring at me with a serious look and looked away?

I pretended not to notice him.

There's this old guy I work with (but fortunately rarely cross paths with) who eats across from me at the cafeteria. Every day he will be staring right into my eyes fiercely while I'm eating and talking to me friends at the table. When he passes by me he does the same. I can only take it as he's mesmerizes by my looks, haha.
But he's old and married, so I'm sure he doesn't mean anything. Maybe the same for that guy, he just finds it hard not to look at you. Creepy? Yeah... But hopefully harmless.

I actually avert my eyes from ugly people, I only stare if they're attractive or there's something attention grabbing about them like being 7ft tall.

People also tend to be pretty harsh on their own appearances, and different people find different things attractive. It is possible for him to have been attracted to you.

Yeah, I do. I actually just got back from a cafe and the only girls I glanced at more than once on purpose were the ones I found attractive. Sometimes I think I'm ugly as well, but then beautiful girls stare and compliment me, so I know either those girls have a specific taste or I'm not ugly, either way I'm too harsh on myself and I think you are too.

Usually a guy will do this if their attracted to you, trying to assess you, and trying to determine how to approach you in their mind. A lot of times they puss out before they actually act, which results in you being like "why the fuck was he looking at me?"

No he wouldn't look away quickly if he found you ugly, he'd give you a stink face. He thought you were hot, can almost guarantee it. Guys do this when they are attracted to a girl but don't know how to proceed forward. It usually results in a creepy blank stare that leaves you confused and us feeling like creeps, but the truth is we're visual creatures, you catch our eye and we end up staring and get embarrassed when you catch us.

I have never sat and stared blankly at a girl who I was like "Oh my god. What happened to her face?" There is the possibility that you reminded him of someone he knew. But we don't stare without analyzing some aspect of the person we are staring at, so if I had to bet, I would say he was attracted to you.
