Dumper acting cold and distant?

We dated, he was hesitant to because he was suffering with depression, but he decided to date me so I guess he must have liked me.

He broke up with me due to his depression and a lack of energy for anything, and knew he was hurting me.

Now he acts so cold and distant towards me, he can't look at me, can't properly acknowledge me, and will avoid all contact with me.

Why is he doing this? I haven't done anything to hurt him and I care about him so much.

It sounds like he never shared anything with you, and so you have nothing to share with us. Nobody can really know.

As a rule of thumb, don't date people suffering from depression. Umm, but I guess you know that now.

How to come to terms with it? Well, if he's shut up as a clam then no idea. A lot of mentally ill people suffer from depression. Maybe he's crazy? Eh, I don't like playing the crazy card too much. Did that in another answer earlier; I don't want to make it a habit. But heh, never know... could be a string of them lately.

I think he's being distant because of his condition. He doesn't want to hurt or scare you so it would probably be best to keep some space between you guys especially if he's having some suicidal thoughts, he might not want you to get so close to him.
