Why does my boyfriend get protective over me when we are with his friends?

They're all great guys and we are pretty close but when we are all together my boyfriend seems a little on edge. One of his friends today picked me up and threw my over his shoulder and my boyfriend picked me off of him and held me bridalstyle instead. He always intersects with an awkward three person hug if one of them and I are having a good hug. What's his issue?

It's instinctive. As a male, he feels protective when other males are near you. Because as a male, he knows how other males think, and other males 99% of the time WOULD be willing to fuck you. No matter how much you're going to say "oh, no they're just friends'', that will almost never be the case. Most of these male friends have already envisioned having sex with you. That's just how males are.

So he's being protective because he loves you and of course wants you to himself.

We know our friends and we know how good or bad they are, how they operate, what they do, how they feel... guys talk and guys know. When it comes to a guy and his Girlfriend there is always the thought in the back of his mind, be as far back as it might be that his Girlfriend may like his friends more so than she likes him and no guy wants that so they do what is natural, and protects against it. there's nothing wrong with it just be understand about it I guess

It's pretty normal for a boyfriend to be unhappy if some other guy is picking you up over his shoulder.

He's being sensitive maybe but the bottom line is that you're being more intimate / physical with his friends than is necessary. Just dial it back a bit for his sake. Lots of girls are naturally a bit flirty... if you care about him just turn it down and don't touch other guys so much. He will get much much more normal.
