What are some signs a shy guy is attracted to you? Please help?

I like this shy guy and he knows I like him cuz I told him and instead of being weird about it he has been really nice and hugged me a couple times a few weeks after I told him. He said he feels like he doesn't know me much at all yet & has quite a bit of things to figure out in his life right now (I know what they are) and he recognizes it takes a lot to tell someone how you feel and he really appreciates my honesty. Now I've noticed him looking at me more and trying to get my attention in a crowd more & intiating hugs with me more than before. Something just feels like he likes me back but I want to know for sure. If he weren't interested why not just ignore me ( considering we don't know each other enough so we won't be losing a friendship or anything) instead I've noticed the opposite from him. Could these mean anything? Like he might be interested?

If he is a "shy guy" then consider that you may be the first girl to really take an interest in him, so likewise he is new to dealing with such a person. His mannerisms may seem a little off, or he might rush at times and then be slow at others. Just by opening the door to talking and expressing your feelings, you have at least peaked his interest. It seems like he is trying to make an effort to get to know you better. Just be a little patient and revisit the possibility of dating in a few months.

On a side note, you've done the hard part of expressing your feelings. It won't be any harder to ask him directly about his intentions.

I think you already have your answer, he told you he needs time for personal reasons, but he is interested because otherwise he would already have ignored you. If you know what the problem is, give him time and space, apparently he likes to have contact with you so dont worry about that, when he is ready, you will know.
