Guys, my introverted boyfriend doesn't initiate texts anymore unless he wants to hang out that night. Now what?

We have been dating for a couple months now, and after we talked about where we were in our relationship, he has now become more distant. He said he isn't ready for a committed relationship yet and wants to slow things down, but he said he has feelings for me and he sees a relationship with me.

Now he really only responds to my texts, and has initiated once (two weeks ago) to hang out that night. It's a hot and cold thing.

Is he doing this to pull back and slow things down? Have any of you guys done this to a girl that you genuinely liked, so that you can pace things out if you're just not ready yet?

by the way, we hang out pretty much once a week because we both have full time jobs and live in different towns

The reason we really had the talk was because he saw his ex with the guy she cheated on him with, and it freaked him out. Made him think all the what ifs.

Plus he shows sides of himself that I don't think he would show if I was a fling. He also said that I'm not a fling and that he has feelings for me. And we live about 40 minutes apart, and he drives here to see me.

Do you still think it's just not me that he wants?

I know the whole, "I'm not ready for a commitment yet" thing, can be either he just doesn't want to date me or he genuinely wants to take things slow.

I think its you. I'd want to know if he doesn't want a relationship then why the fuck is he with you? Tell him when he is ready to give you a call IF you're still single. I wouldn't wait around for him
