Guy making vague date plans?

Why would a guy I've been hooking up with repeatedly mention wanting to go on a date to a particular place with me, but not follow through? He's mentioned it twice now, once was very very vague (sometime) and the second time was vague but for a day this week. He hasn't said anything about it since and he asked me the second time on Sunday.

It means he either is just way too laid back or he doesn't really care. Unless he has many other redeeming qualities, it doesn't sound like he's ready for a committed relationship.

I think he may be confused about what he wants, so he cycles back and forth between pursuing a relationship and simply hooking up.

Yeah he mentioned it the first time and just said "Oh next time I'm in the mood for a burger I'll let you know and we can go ;)" referencing a place I'd told him about. And the second time it was when he dropped me off at home the morning after hooking up and I kissed him goodbye and he brought it up again, saying he really wanted to go with me this week.

Just tell him straight that its bad to ask someone out and dont go through, just say it to him, he won't invite you again if he doesn't really mean it.

At least point we're both moving away from school tomorrow for the summer (and we live three hours away from each other when we're not at college) so is it even worth it? I'm assuming it's not happening, since today's the last day

Oh I do. I dated a guy for 3 1/2 months and was absolutely in love with him and he showered me with love as well. But randomly, he became distant. He broke up with me because he felt that he was leading me on, that he didn't see it going anywhere and he didn't have time for me. At first I thought it was a good reason, but I realized he told me he talked to so many people about it but he didn't talk to me. I realized then how immature he was and it only got worse after our breakup when he would go around to all my friends and try to get details about me.

(And he was someone that EVERYONE thought was SO nice- literally didn't think he could hurt a fly. When girls show feelings, almost every guy turns out to be an asshole.)

Welp he ended up not asking me to go on the date again but he texted me an apology yesterday about how his finals week was too crazy to go and said he still wants to go in the fall when we're back at school. He didn't respond to my response tho :/
