It has to do with sex - more so with lust. It is like him being in such a state of lust that he doesn't just want to "fuck" you like an animal, but touch you and make you feel fantastic and loved because he really wants you to love him like this powerful benevolent goddess.

That's a secondary want, but yes. He is so in lust though that he is like a race horse locked in the starting gate just before it opens. His saying "I want to worship you" is like the horse feeling "Just open the gate so I can run!" But, when a woman is so amazing that I guy can enter that level of lust, he feels like he will be like that for a long time and just wants to be with her all the time. For that reason, he subconsciously knows that he doesn't want to blow it and he will be a better, nonselfish lover concentrating his efforts on your pleasure more than his own.
