So it's come to my attention and I've had experiences with this by all my guy friends and even guys I've dated.
A lot of guys say girls like this Are more prettier than thisIts like high fashion/runway models are uniquely beautiful but most guys see pretty girl next door more attractive?

As for people saying that the 2nd girl is fake, thanks for the good laugh.
A lot of runway models are naturally beautiful with amazing personalities... don't get fooled by there strong faces they are people too.
They are girls who are plucked from poverty or poor countries so surgery too them is not common.
I truly feel sorry for all people who don't appreciate unique beauty, you'd rather have generic looks.
Why do guys choose "girl next door" over "unique striking" beauty?
Well for one guys aren't into girls who believe that they need to be thin and tiny to get a guy. Its a huge misconception that guy want girls to be on ether end of the weight and BMI's extremes rather most guys. Want the girl to be as stunning and amazing looking as her personality is.
The largest difference between the "girl next door" and runway models is the realistic level. Guys know that the chances of getting a hot girl who looks like a model is very slim. On top of that typically girls who go for the runway model look are mostly "already" taken or act as though they are. Which gives off the wrong idea.
Not to mention guys admire models but they are not automatically wanting to date models. Really what it comes down to is how good of a other half are you. Looks are like a third of what makes girls attractive. Its not so much about looks as much as it is how many guys openly comment and are willing to talk to you is the true measurement of beauty.
Plus guys dont mind a little substance to girls its okay to be fit and toned you dont need to have a 6 pack or an 8 pack just avoid excess tissue hanging off. Plus guys are going to chase girls who have a natural color to them that skin naturally radiates when one is healthy.
Not cause your super thin and have abs that doesn't automatically mean every guy is going to want to be with you. As I have seen girls who put themselves through hell and back with diets and workouts dont automatically end up with guys they want.
I guess what I'm getting at with all of this is to stay within the term "moderation." Is what guys are looking for in girls. Not to much of anyone thing just a nice balance of everything.
Also there are some key compliments that guys like to give girls that are clear signs you the girl are doing the right thing. Such as "wifey material or wife material" And more corny compliments. Thats what you should be going for not. Just the physical appearance. As guys will overlook "mistakes" if you give them something else to focus on.
Its kinda the idea of dating a cheerleader. She isn't really going to be there for the relationship if she's apart of a comp cheer team. Rather your the one being there for her. Being her boyfriend doesn't really get you anything in return beyond just being known as the guy dating a hot cheerleader. A status up. But other wise unless she's a mind blowingly amazing girlfriend there's nothing really in return.
The second girl you posted has a very manly face, she's average. The thing is that the girl next door become the girl next door not because of beauty, but personality. They have a cute personality and happy vibes, and guy love that.
Alexis Ren is easily one of the most well known models out there. And it's easy to see why, she's gorgous but let's not pretend like she isn't a supermodel. She has a very "average" face. There outstanding feautres, which has been scientifically proven to be attractive On the other hand I have no idea who the other girl that you called a model is (I had to google it) and she's pretty too but she outstandingly high cheekbones and strong jawline which makes her face more memorable, more different and therefore less agreeably attractive.
Alexis ren is one of the most well known model... please wait a minute while recover from LMFAO. Hell to the o that second model is one of the best in the ACTUAL fashion industry as in she's an actual high fashion / runway model. Without Instagram Alexis would be nothing.
please look at your question, loads of people knew the first girls name not a lot the second ones. Maybe she wouldn't be famous without instagram but like it or not, SHE IS
I honestly think both of those girls look alike in ways. Both are beautiful, but the second one's jaw is a little masculine looking to me. I don't mean that in a mean way either, it just does to me. Either way, I wouldn't call the first girl plain or generic at all. She has great features and a lot of beauty too. I personally have never been super attracted to male model looking guys, myself, and usually find myself liking guys that would be considered either average or slightly above average. I usually like them more because of their personalities than their looks, and there are a lot more "everyday" types than male model types, so that may be part of it.
Personally, I think the first girl is more of a unique beauty then the second one. There's a million of the second girl walking around, especially in modeling. I use to watch Americas Next Top Model and I know for a fact in high fashion modeling , they have specific look in mine. They like people with strong features it makes bigger in impact on things. So, realistically that second girl isn't unique she's one of many. The first girl is more rare look wise than the second, at least from observations of people.

The girls next door are the ones that are realistic and most of the time available. Why bother with a runway model when there are none around small town Kansas.
I think they are both very attractive. I was looking through different photos of Blanca and I have to say, the pic you chose of her above doesn't do her justice. Since she is a Victoria Secret's model, she's definitely a top model and highly attractive. That being said, the reason most guys go for the "girl next door" look is because of what the title suggests. The girl that looks like your best friends hot sister. Or the girl that you see sometimes at the grocery store doing the same crap you are, in her casual wear going about her average day like most are. Most people are in the. what I would call, average level of status and looks and mentality. So then most guys are average. The "girl next door" look is your typical attractive, average looking girl. So, in this guise, she seems like her lifestyle would be average and regular and thus, will be easy to meet and get to know and she will be available to do average fun things with like movies or go carting or skate boarding/snow boarding or video games or whatever is fun to do together that doesn't require a months salary to do.
Now, take a super model look. Usually, even their casual clothing is higher priced and in the fashion realm. They probably have less free time to hang out, because of a model's hectic lifestyle. Not to say that they don't like to do average things like the rest of us and most models do come from small towns or average backgrounds. But I would venture to say that they probably are around the upper echelon of society. They are used to a certain lifestyle that is usually above the average. Jet-setting all over the world, wearing the most expensive outfits/jewelry, going to the most sot after parties/clubs, etc. An average guy looks at a model and things, what could I possible give her or what would she see in me? It's not that we don't find models attractive, it's just either we don't really come into contact with them readily, most don't feel would catch their interest enough, or we don't want to be in their lifestyle and be the flavor of the month for them this round. Or at least in the eyes of the media/fashion world. It's not fair maybe, from their point of view, because most models are pretty easy going and down to Earth in attitude, it's not that they aren't interested in meeting an average Joe either. But, it's all perspective, in that the average Joe's perspective of them is way different than a model's perspective of us. We gravitate to similar perspectives.

In the case of your examples, the model/second is indeed beautiful—or could be—but she looks malnourished; not quite a skin-covered skeleton yet, but well on the way. The first looks like a healthy human being.
If you look at it from a human animal/evolutionary standpoint, which of the two looks like she would bring a pregnancy to full term and have something left for breastfeeding? Women have more body fat than men for this very reason.
While so many women think (or are told) the model look is how they ought to look, it isn't what men are actually attracted to.

Regarding your update: you can't account for people's taste. Arguing about something as subjective as beauty is always fruitless. I'm sure you aren't addressing my opinion specifically, but I agree with you about personalities and what you said about being fake. It's your last statement that touches a nerve with me: "I truly feel sorry for all people who don't appreciate unique beauty, you'd rather have generic looks."
This has obviously touched a nerve with you as well. The second woman definitely striking. Uniquely so, as you've said. In fact, she reminds me a lot of Katerina Witt, an East German figure skater who, in the 80s, captured everyone's attention. The difference, again, comes down to a healthful look.
While I disagree that the first woman has generic looks in any case, I really think it's her fuller face and neck and her rounder, softer shoulders that make her more attractive. Perhaps you're right that she's not as strikingly beautiful, but she's by far more attractive.
It's because most models aren't that attractive sexually attractive. Sure, they have "striking" faces and their faces have a unique genetic makeup but that doesn't scream to guys that they want to fuck their brains out.
I'm pretty sure there was a study done, where they determined that how attainable someone appears to be makes them more attractive. But I think what makes the girl next door the girl next door is her personality. It's that she seems nice, happy and approachable which in turn makes her more desirable.

Oh I didn't mean her actually personality. I mean the stereotype personality that people will assign to others based on looks. The girl next door isn't just a look it's a stereotype personality that's docile and pure. That's what's appealing about her.
Well for one thing, more average looking girls are more realistic, and are subject to subconsciously (or consiously, perhaps) being assumed to be better people, since they have not been taught that their looks make them superior to others etc. Also, high fashion style is largely decided by gay men. Thus models in the fashion world tend to have more masculine features than average women.
Because, believe it or not, besides symmetry, people find the most *average* face the most beautiful. This has been proven repeatedly. Therefore, by definition, a *unique* face, while better for marketing purposes, (so you can differentiate your brand) is, almost by definition, less attractive.
Not all guys will choose the girl next door over a 'unique, striking beauty'. I'm sure it'll differ with each guy based on what he's looking for in the first place; someone who would be good 'girlfriend material', or just a quick fuck.
(side note- Blanca Padilla is STUNNING. I can almost guarantee she's way better looking than the blonde. Blanca's features are almost freakishly perfect.)
Runway models tend to have slender figures but not cute faces. In the end, you'll spend most of your time looking at a face. A face that should make you smile simply by looking at it, for me, that's true attraction

Why do more people prefer the top 40 to a Mozart Opera?
Both girls seems attractive anyway. I do sometimes see very attractive, pristine and aloof looking girls with a perfect facial structure. And although I'm not a bad looking guy myself, they somehow seem unattainable. If a guy has even lower confidence, he may just flat out subconsciously think he doesn't have a chance.
I don't think girl A looks like a 'pleb', so maybe your example isn't very good :) She looks relatively homely, but I wouldn't strictly class her as girl next door.
The blonde IS more attractive. Second girl looks kind of... alienesque.

Look, I can see you clearly identify personally with girl #2 more than girl #1. That's fine. She's not ugly, she's just less attractive to the vast majority of men than #1, that's all. Don't let it ruin your day.
@Asker Okay, people can feel attracted to whatever they want, it doesn't necessarily mean that society has taught them to think that or that their taste is boring. The beauty of life is that everyone finds different things beautiful. It is okay if someone finds something else more beautiful than what you find it, and vice versa. There are guys my friends freak out over that I don't see the big deal about, and they don't see what I see in the guys I find attractive. That's just the variety in life. It's actually a very great thing.
The first have that sweet gentle look, the kind that makes you smile every time you see her face, that's what guys want.
Think of it like buildings, I guess the "striking beauty" is like a tall skyscraper that you look at and it amazes you. But where you really want to live is the cute and cozey little cottage in the mountains
But I don't really feel attracted to girls who place too much emphasis on their appearance, so maybe that's the answer you're looking for. If it looks like she's overly concerned with being fashionable and making herself look good and collecting those likes on instagram, that's a turn off, and I think most guys would probably agree... because it makes her seem superficial and like she wouldn't be interested in things I'm interested in.
Saying a woman is beautiful doesn't mean we'd make passes at her or try to get a date.
The girl next door seems much more attainable. Girls who are dressed and styled to the nine's give the impression they're expecting Theo James to come along or they would just be too much work.

That's the thing, most runway models dress so casually and are usually girls who aren't high maintenance... I went to a dolce and gabbana show last year and the runway models would come out in sweaters and jeans afterwards. You could see why they are models because even striped back no makeup they still are gorgeous.
Most men haven't been to Dolce and Gabbana. We see girls dressed to the nines and it gives an impression. It's same as if I went somewhere looking like James Bond vs looking like Nate Drake.
It's hard to describe, it comes from the genetics I guess. Runway models aren't stable. At least that's what most think. So they go into much stable, yet not striking beauties. The fact they have many marital problems which we've known from the media make a bias too I guess. But for the reason, I'm going with the stability issue comes with genes.
I think it's the sense of humility and down to earth type feel. I see pretty girl but u know they put a lot into it. Where you get a girl. Little make up. Probably gives the feel she's down to earth and approachable and not high maintenance. Maybe the daunting feeling of approaching a woman
That second girls jawline is so defined and that's a masculine trait and she looks too thin. Guys will choose the more attractive girl of the two doesn't matter if one is 'uniquely'beautiful or just normal.
The model's beauty feels fake at times. The girl next door's doesn't. Plus, take, say, Gisele Bundchen. I personally know prettier women, literally in the next door. Sometimes, the 'unique striking' beauty isn't that striking at all.
Because people with "unique" beauty who are part of the modelling industry often have a stuckup attitude that is the result of being constantly reminded how attractive they are. The girl next door is more often far more grounded in reality.
Simple: the top chick has soft, feminine features. The bottom chick has sharp, masculine features. Guys will choose feminine over masculine almost all the time.
I think its the idea of a more natural look. Like someone that is more than a pretty face. Its like the difference between beauty and looking like a beautiful human.

I have always thought they go for the unique striking beauty. I don't know, it's common sense after all, people in general go for what is unique and beautiful. That's why I believe I can't easily stand a chance in dating.
The second girl has a jawline very similar to my own , just on a smaller scale & looks cold & unfriendly , there are more than enough stony faced, cold , scowling women , round my way. Not many that are similar to the 1st pic.
I think "uniqueness" and exotic things are a tad scary. Guys feel comfortable with familiar things. If a lot of people won't try exotic food, how do you suppose they would go for a relationship with a different, exotic girl?
The girl next door looks more attractive to me plus she looks girly to me. The second girl looks like I would be intimidated by her at least how she looks as she doesn't seem friendly.
Beautiful girls are the most arrogant and demanding. They can come across as very friendly for attention but deep down their ego comes out. there is something about how much males gives females attention determines their arrogance.
I am girl, but bisexual so I guess I sorta count. The runway models are just SO DAMN FAKE, plastic surgery, boob/butt implants, 10 pounds of makeup, it just doesn't work.
