Guy's Behavior

Is he just being charismatic or is he interested in me?

Okay, so there is one guy who is in two of my classes at my school and he is in a rock band. But, he isn't the stereotypical band t-shirt and wallflower type of person (no offense I am just trying to describe him). He's very handsome, and insanely nice. A couple of my friends have show interest in him, but honestly it flies right over his head. One time, one of my friends, who for this purpose I am naming Sally, noticed that he walked over and she said, "Hey hot stuff." He didn't even notice her and it even seemed like he may have been ignoring her. After she got his attention, he just awkwardly yet politely said, "Oh, thanks." Then today my other friend, who I'll name Amy, was chatting with him about TV shows next to me. I kind of paid attention to their conversation and said some things here and there, but I was mostly focused on reading on my iPad. But any time I looked up, he would just stare at me while talking as if we were the ones talking the entire time. It was really unnerving and I kind of blushed before trying to just tilt my head to the side to look at Amy while he was talking so I couldn't see him stare at me. He did that all period (class) long today. Then, at one point in the conversation, he was joking with Amy about calling her down to the gym floor during the talent show because she was talking about how bad she fangirls. Suddenly he mentions me, and says that he'd probably point me out in the crowd, calling me the Senior Class President (because I'm running for it) and bring me down to the gym floor so we can sing the chorus together. I gaped in shock. In the other class I have him with. I'll often catch him looking at me from across the room, but I don't want to assume anything and think that he likes me. So many girls have a crush on him, but he's never really dated anybody. He's funny, a talented singer, very very very nice and gentlemanly, and honest--so I can't tell if he's ever being just polite/himself or if he's taken an interest in me.
