My boyfriend takes his phone into the bathroom everytime he goes to the bathroom, should I be suspicious of this?

It's not when he pees, it's when he goes to take a dump lol. He takes his phone EVERY time and I'm worried if he's hiding something. When I ask him why he says because he likes to look up stuff, like cars for sale on Craigslist, articles, etc, while taking a dump. He's in there for a long time too. It's not a short time. He keeps his phone on him like no other, very rarely he'll leave his phone alone with me in the room. He will say to me "here go through it. There's nothing in there." I refuse to do that. And it doesn't help anyways because he could have deleted the message from girls and what not. One time I did a wrong thing by looking through his phone while he was sleeping and I found nothing suspicious at all. However he did suspicious things in the past, so that's why I'm kinda insecure because he did cheat on me in the past. We were only broken up for a day and he was talking to girls and shacked up with one in a hotel. I still consider that cheating. He said he learned from that and will never do it again but it created trust issues. So I wanted others opinions on this. Should I be worried? Is he possibly cheating? Or is it a guy thing to take their phone while taking a dump to look up stuff? Like I said he tells me to go through his phone but I refuse to.

Well, I'M suspicious anyway IF you both adopted a "lock out" while pooping
although one could argue that the phone insanity has replaced even a book for those that ignore the doc about sitting too long on the pot (= hemorrhoids)

Craigslist mention is also suspect due to sex connections there, although most guys are hookup curious and get ego boosts from these, never acting on them when married

"nothing in there" = bald face lie so obvious to anyone that really cares

must disagree with cheating only if YOU made the break up

go through his phone! but not when invited, not after he's had hours on potty to erase the evidence, then after you've found the trouble looking for what then? Make his life miserable with an ultimatum? Hile Hitler? Boys will be boys and maybe with such evidence you shop for a replacement that has an unknown history of "cheating"?

A hard decision each of us must make...

I doubt he is doing anything. I do the same.. I have the kindle app on my phone. I read a book while I am using the restroom. I also keep my phone with me at all times. I work in a company where I am on call 24x7 not having my phone on me means I'm fired. if suggest not jumping to conclusions and actually do this new fangled thing called communication. you know the thing we use to do before everyone had their nose in their phone.. . tell him about your concerns rather than submitting to paranoia. you might get a result you like.

lot of people take their phones to the bathroom with them and spend an obscene amount of time just scrolling through whatever they want.. far more than is necessary for the length of the shit. it's a nice way to pass time and do something that isn't just focus on doing a number 2.

Well for one thing... It's not really cheating if you guys had broken up.  Also, I usually take my phone in with me to poop too. Keeping my mind busy helps move things along... 😛  I wouldn't worry.

You can be pretty sure he regularly deletes any incriminating messages. THAT is probably what takes so long in the bathroom!!! So in case he forgets, or when he's asleep, he knows you might look through it but there won't be anything to find.

Leave him alone and never speak to him again. The same thing or I think its happen to me. A guy i just started talking took his phone to the bathroom. When I was sitting in the waiting he was texting someome a whole 20mins etc. I he isn't al l way financially stable. But calls himself dating or in a relationship already. Next time he says to check out his phone. Look for a folder called ". nomedia" (if it's an android phone). Anything I'm there I'd hidden from the photo gallery app, the music player app, and the video app.
