Why are tall good-looking fit guys after short tanned girls?

I see it more and more nowadays fit tall good-looking guys being crazy about big booty short tanned dark eyed dark haired girls (latina, arab, biracial). Specially white and biracial guys (with strong white features).
Is it related to instagram? What is this hype about? On instagram I see those guys going crazy about them and in real life I see more and more like such couples.
A handsome white guy in my class broke up with a pretty white girl to pursue such a girl.

People regardless of race have a tendency to feel that "their" men/women date interracial more than they do. For example we see black women complaining about black men dating outside of their race meanwhile some black men complain about the women doing the exact same thing. Same thing can be said about Asians whites etc. I think it's human nature to be possessive like this. Or to the very least a product of our social values.

Apart from the obvious (she's hot) it might have something to do with the tendency for said girls to be very confident in themselves. Kind of like which came first, the chicken or the egg. Guys hit on some which makes them more confident, which makes more guys hit on them and so on
