I think it's still possible as long as the right people connect. A guy can be a total sweetheart and super well mannered but if his significant other finds it offensive for him to do basic gentlemanly things then it all goes to hell. Plus, overall these days, people probably want more of a mix. Back in the olden days you were expected to always pull out the lady's chair, but these days if you did that to someone at like a Subway they'd probably feel a bit odd and get some weird looks. But at the same time if you're at a really nice place and she's got a dress on you may pull the chair out:
A- because you're presenting the highest manners because you're at a respectable establishment and it's not as uncommon behavior in that environment
B- Because she's wearing a dress instead of jeans

So on and so forth. Just my opinion
