Why do people stare at me whenever I go somewhere with my dad?

Hello. Im an 18 year old girl, and I've noticed that people stare at me whenever i go somewhere with my dad. i dont have my own car so he drives me whenever i have to go somewhere, school, the store, etc.

I thought people stared at me, but i noticed that people never stare at me when i go somewhere alone, with my mom, or friends.

So, can anyone explain why?
Do they think im dating him or smth? dont they understand that he's my father or what.

As gross as it may be to think about, they probably think that you are "with him" kind of like a sugar Daddy thing. It's a well confirmed fact that men being alone with younger girls will always been seems as something sexual even when it's just a Dad and Daughter out and about.

Yea they probably think you're dating. It's a stupid judgement to make. One time when my niece was 13 the school called her mother saying she was seen hugging an older man. The older man was her dad 🙄
