Why when I walk passed a group of boys standing outside a store one of them said " mmm hi " in a low pitch tune?

Is that even be an insult or something?

I wouldn't call it insulting I would think that they just don't know how to flirt yet. Perhaps they find you very attractive. But that does not mean they're not being rude however I don't think they realize they are being rude because if they are boys and they're quite young they may still have some learning to do. if it's a one-time occurrence I wouldn't worry about it however if it continues on and you do not appreciate it you must say so and make it clear to them to leave you alone if you do not like their attention. if the behavior continues even after you've asked them to leave you alone then I would inform your parents. Boys or not young or not someone needs to inform them that their behavior is not appropriate. There are polite ways to flirt with a woman but dog whistles wolf whistles moaning noises is not appropriate. If you don't recorrect them then they won't know that they're doing something that women don't like. I get that boys will be boys but that doesn't mean that you have to endure the behavior. Again I'm only saying that if this behavior is bothering you and if they continue to bother you on a repeated basis and if you ask them to stop and they don't. once in awhile flirting won't hurt you it'll happen a lot in your lifetime however there is a difference between a one-time deal and a repetitive harassing deal and as you grow up you'll learn to tell the difference between them. For now if it was just a one time occurrence I wouldn't worry about it they're boys and they'll figure it out eventually.

There is nothing wrong if someone says hi... They may have many intentions... maybe they found you pretty, need help figuring out something, etc. Many reasons are there, so there is no need to think why's this guy saying hi... talk to them and find out

Sorry but boys do that to get you going, my advice is don't let the boys get to you now with me if I was standing with the guys I would tell them to tone it down meaning telling them to watch what they say to a girl, now that is just my protective way and I don't want to do that to a girl to put her on a spot.

Like 10-14 mostly do things like this out of "joke" (mostly, not everyone) if older, it even depends ln, if the tone still sounded "real" or too fake, if too fake, to make fun about you, if real then it even could be a compliment
