Why would a guy on a dating site get jealous?

A guy that I always chat to got jealous. The reason was because I signed in twice and it seems like he thought I was ignoring him but i wanted to chat to another guy, but it was neither as i didn't have time to chat to him. The reason I signed in twice was because I received emails from a few guys.

The night after he was asking me if I think jealousy can kindle the fire of love. It seemed like he was asking me that because that's how he was feeling. I haven't asked him because he would probably deny it, it's not something that most would like to admit in my opinion.

What reason (s) would he get jealous?

Too attached. He doesn't know you, you don't know him. He is forgetting that he is on a dating site, where it's free game. Everybody can practically do what they want, and he is having unrealistic expectations that 1 person is going to take interest in only 1 person. That is not how that works especially with online dating.

That's why I don't agree with online dating, and I definitely don't agree with just dating strangers that you don't even know. If he is looking for somebody to be serious with concerning having a partner, he should not be on online dating apps or websites in the first place. He should make the decision to befriend women offline and get to know them in person.

In the meantime you are not held responsible for how he chooses to feel. If he is already feeling that way to nine out of 10 times he lacks the experience. So don't hold it out too much against him. But do communicate and tell him what it is that you need. That way he can stop contacting you and that's how he feels. There's no disrespect to anyone here. I'm just calling it for what I see.

Thanks for your answer, I really appreciate it as it makes total sense. I would like to meet him, in a safe place of course.
It's madness to me of his jealousy, I will need to try and stop him being jealous because it will ruin and prevent anything between us if anything.
Sometimes one needs to date a few people to see who is most compatible.
Anyway, only time will tell of the outcome.

There is nothing that you can do. These are the reasons why dating is processing in elimination. If he's already showing no signs, you need to ask yourself if this is something you are willing to accept about him because that's not going to change overnight. And he may never changed from that. If you know that that is not something that you want to do, damn you need to communicate that with him, and let him know what it is it you're looking for, but you are not looking for, what you expect for a relationship, what you don't accept for a relationship, and make it very clear verbally five nights that you can't have that stuff going on if you to expect to move forward.

The truth is no one does not have to date multiple people. That's what being friends is for. You use friendship in order for you to actually build a connection with somebody and to see compatibility. Because when you date multiple people, then you end up doing that based on out of your personal desires when that's not a relationship is supposed to be about. If you have two different ideas and values concerning dating then it's safe to say that you both are not compatible and you better go your own separate ways hit it because he's obviously looking for just one partner and he already knows that it's somebody like you. But if you don't feel the same way it's best to be honest with him and it's best to be honest with yourself so he is free to move on. It's not good to try to hold on to a person when you know damn well you don't pick him.

Thanks again for your reply. I do have the value for a relationship but certainly not jealousy.
I probably won't be able to change his ways, but I will communicate everything with him. That way no time is wasted for me and him.

Thanks for your answer. I do like the guy, and maybe we will be exclusive. I am certainly not going to eliminate him out of my life, because i will take my chances!
