What does it mean when he says 'I am starting to like you' or 'I kinda like you'??

I basically asked him to put his cards on the table and tell me how he feels, because long story short - things have gotten complicated.

Basically he said (when we were texting) 'I am starting to like you' and 'I kinda like you'

How can you 'kinda' like someone? I mean you either like someone or you don't, you can't 'kinda' like someone.

Also how can you be 'starting to' like someone? Like I said, you either like them or you don't?

I am so confused, I mean the reason I wanted to know is because I like him (he knows this - I told you things were complicated), and I was thinking that it would be easier for me to 'deal' with everything if I knew how he felt (i.e. get over him because he didn't like me back).

But now I am just as confused as before :s

It's not the he is liking you slightly, it's that he has an affection for you but is nervous to come full out because that's not what guys do. You guys had a FwB relationship and changing that up is going to be an adjustment. He does like you, he just seems a little shy about it, but you should know that if you want to date you have to let him know.

I like you means I like you. Don't over analyse.

He is probably just awkward, pretty sure I've said I kinda like you way more than straight out "I like you" it just comes out forced.

It's kind of annoying. USually when someone finds out another person likes them, they start to feel something as well...it's just not for sure yet.
