Why do some white boys want to be black?

I know a boy who does not explicitly says that he wants to be black but acts like that “typical black rapper” stereotype. Why is that?

I dont think they want to be black. They want to dress gangster and stuff. It's like when rock was a big thing and you had all that leather and mohawks. Rap is the big thing these days and people want to dress how rapper dress, talk, and act. Just cause their "black" doesn't mean they want to be black. Being black also doesn't mean you have to dress and act like rappers do.

Because boys are following cultural trends just like girls do. Black is the new cool. They can say the most degrading and obnoxious thing about other races/sexes and nothing happens to them. Meanwhile, white boys are told from the moment they enter kindergarten that they are rapists, mysigynistic and racists. They are naturally are trying to escape the stigma by becoming "black", subconsciously hoping they will not be blamed for what they are not.

3. "Black rapper" culture is un-apologetically masculine, and most other cultures have become more and more feminised over time. Although the feminisation is beginning to happen to rap culture also.

My guess would be that they admire parts of black culture and seek to emulate them, but are socially forbidden from doing so because of their skin color. Logically, then, they seek to have that obstacle removed.
