Why does a guy try to get my attention by misbehaving a lot or even do/say dumb things that make me look at him and listen to him in class?

He moans in class. He talks to his friend who is his seatmate really loud. He doesn't listen to the teacher even if he's the one who asked the question. I notice that he does it when I don't give him attention or when I ignore him. He forgets things. He destroy his own stuff. He bumps me into me. I feel like he learned my routine and my habits so that he'll figure a way where I can give him attention. And why does he want my attention desperately? He asks me favors by texting me and even misspelled my name. He misspelled my name again even it I informed him already. We've been classmates for like a year and he's my crush. I feel like he does all of this on purpose. He was already like this last year, but he changed and he gives me more attention now. I also have a lot of guy friends and I do hang out with them. Maybe that's the reason?
