Why does he keep adding me on social media?

I have an ex friend from high school (over 20 years ago) who keeps adding me on my social media, just Instagram, that’s all he has. I’ve removed him about 8 times since we don’t even talk, he’s never likes my stuff but he’s always gawking at my stories. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I added him this last time and he’s still silent, never talks, never even likes any post. I told him this last time when he did sent a random text after I added about how I’m doing. I told him I was sorry for removing him but felt we had nothing in coming and that I thought we weren’t as close as in high school.

He never responded back but stays in my social media. I’m a very private person and I don’t even accept request from anyone. I’m just wondering why he keeps adding me? He is together with his girlfriend/communal marriage but I don’t know how that’s going to be honest. I got curious recently and went snooping in his girlfriend IG and I don’t want to be mean but she looks a lot like me, just higher forehead and dark black hair. Why does he keep adding me? In high school we were best friends but drifted apart. Very apart. It hurts me having him on my IG because it reminds me of a friendship that’s not there anymore, that’s why I remove him.
