Does interlocking fingers with a person you are greeting means anything?

Everytime I go and greet this guy at work, I push my hand towards him to either give him a high-five or a fistbump but when we touch he just "separate" his fingers so we end up interlocking for a moment.
This is such a weird way to greet someone so I'm wondering if it's normal for some people

Ummm... yeah that kind of motion is generally done between couples as a means of holding hands. Now if he does it with a chuckle or laugh, then yes he is just having fun and goofing off. Otherwise, I would ask him about it.

That is what makes me confused. He didn't laugh or anything, he just greets me like that now and the last time he pulled my hand closer to him.
He sometimes does things that I don't understand but I brush it off as some quirkyness he does but at the same time I keep wondering if it means something

I asked him about it yesterday and he told me he only did it because it was convenient, but he did it 4 days in a row so its a awkward escuse for me.
My male gay friend even said the same thing you did, like unless he was also gay then he's trying to send me a message.

I can't even talk to him properly about it because he keeps running away saying he's busy. He doesn't talk to me properly so thats why I'm always confused by his actions

It' now coming across to me as though he wants to tell you he is into you, he just doesn't know how to approach you. He's probably fearing that he will get rejected by you, if you don't respond to him the way he is to you. So it is easiest for him to express himself to you without running into the possibility that he will be punished for his feelings via rejection from you.

I like to believe that because I have some feelings for him as well, but it's been almost 2 years and with covid in the middle without seeing and talking to each other for so long made me very confused and cautious about everything.

Like, I noticed that he's very physical with me but also gave him the permission to be comfortable with me like that thinking that could lead to something so I keep thinking I did something wrong because nothing besides that happens.

If I try to talk to him about feelings he runs if I take iniciative to be closer to him he ignores me but if Ignore him, he tries to get my attention all day and talk to me properly.

But he told me a once that he has ADHD so I guess that might also be a reason.

He's just greeting me. I don't think he wants something else because he does weird things like that but I think he's just a quirky guy.
