My boyfriend’s bruh is calling me love?

My boyfriend of almost 3 years have a childhood best friend that he knows almost all his life. And I've grown pretty close to him despite living in different parts of the world. He will respond to my text at anytime, write/call me almost weekly if not daily and will drop whatever he is doing if i said i need help or a virtual shoulder to cry on.
i love this dude as a brother and nothing more. Recently, I’ve noticed that he’s been addressing me as “love”, “princess” and all that lovely names. I dont have an issue with it and it could be a southern thing but the other day i was joking around with my boyfriend and asking him why dont he call me a nice name (he calls me his bunny) since he’s bestie does. And he’s face completely changed.
He is aware that his best friend writes to me often and we’re very close. I had asked how he feels about it and he said he’s glad that he’s girl is close to his friends.

It is fine unless the best friend is trying the waters. He may be seeing if there is more there then what is perceived. If he just recently started doing it he could have developed feelings over time and he is now trying to see if anything is there. You may need to investigate because you don't want him thinking you are leading him on because he is misreading the signals.
