Guys, Why does my coworker keep trying to keep our text conversation going?

So. This coworker and I are not close, not even really friends, to be honest. I had texted him earlier today for a work question. He responded hours later, which is cool, but now he keeps texting me. Me: It's okay, I figured it out lol Him: sorry Him: I have felt like absolute shit today Me: why? Getting sick? Him: I don't think so. I threw up a couple times today. Him: It's this new medication I'm on. Why does he keep texting me? He has never done this before.
