No. Cute things are small, cuddly, and harmless. Most men don't like being called the same thing you'd call a bunny rabbit, chipmunk, kitten, or baby. I've heard women mean "cute" in the way guys mean "hot," as in, "good looking." But most men would just prefer to be called good-looking, hot, sexy, attractive, etc, than being implied they're small, weak, and helpless like a baby.

I've been called cute before by women, despite me actually being ugly, and it's given me mixed messages; I'm offended, yet know they had good intentions behind it, so I just give a half-assed "thanks" and try to ignore what just happened.

And yeah, calling a guy under six feet tall "cute" is annoying. It's like you can imagine the girl doing this...

I honestly don't like it. That has been a term I have been called by women of my family and extended family. So my mind will always register it as a familial tone and vibe to go with it sounding as though it is suited towards something like a baby, a puppy, or an action that would make some go "aww".

It comes across as demeaning and condescending to a degree, because it brings with it an undertone that the one being called cute is not taken seriously or not seen as a man, but a boy. That is not something a lot of guys like to hear, especially from women they are attracted to. They prefer to be called something that resembles handsome.

Some might take offense to it. Some people are self-conscious about their height, they see it as a disability. So to them, calling them cute is just adding lemon juice to their razor blade laceration. The thing to do would be to get to know them, get a sense of their personality and ask them what they think about their height. If they say suggest it is what it is, then I would say it is safe to say. Otherwise... keep it to yourself. That's what she said.

bonus answer... I rarely meet women that are 6'2" or taller and they've never called me cute for being shorter... lol. But I'll guess here that I would not mind it either.

yeah, I do! I think guys hear "cute" differently from women because men get so few compliments that we take what we can get. Women tend not to call men beautiful... so cute is fine by me.
