Should I turn read receipts on?

Okay so... I have debated whether I should leave read receipts on or not. I originally turned them off because I didn't want guys to be offended if I read their message but couldn't reply at that moment.

However, I've been working towards being more authentic and someone said that it's okay to read now and reply later, that they can wait. So my question to everyone, and guys especially, is are you okay with being left on read for awhile? I mean if you had to choose between the two, would you rather be left on delivered for some time or be left on read for some time?

To those who don't know, read receipts are basically statuses that let the messager know that their message has been read. Refer to the image below:

I like to be left on read until the person I texted or messaged can reply to me. It reassures me that the person I'm talking to at least read what I have to say and acknowledges me.

I turn mine on cause sometimes it takes me awhile to respond cause of work, etc.


So that way if she ever comes back to the conversation and still see’s that it’s on “delivered” then that means I’m still busy

Just keep it on as people will still assume u are ignoring them if it takes u long to respond at least that way u clear up confusions

You can turn on read receipts but turn off notifications. That’s what I do I think

i don't even get that much most of the time i don't get a reply only a few people leave it on seen
