Why does this guy keep looking and staring at me?

I know this guy and he used to be my classmate but I haven't seen him since quarantine and recently in the hallway I have seen him from the corner of my eye looking and staring at me, and he would even turn his head to look at me. Anytime he noticed me he would look or stare, when he's walking with his friends he'll look at me or he'll turn his head to look at me until he couldn't see me anymore why is this? He is a confident guy by the way.
